How Can I Network Without Feeling Like I'm Using People?

Every entrepreneur needs to do it, especially when you are just starting out. No one knows who you are and you have a business that is ready to serve.

There is just one problem: you feel as though you are being fake and that you are going to networking events to just 'use' people to grow your business.

If you've ever felt this way, you are not alone. We all have felt that way at one time or another. But the truth is, people do business with people. More specifically, they do business with people they like, know and trust. So, networking is necessary. The question then remains: how can I network without feeling as though I am using people?

The Magic Of Marketing Episode 4

In this week's episode of The Magic of Marketing, I tackle this question with a twist. Personally, I love networking. So, I share with you a secret that I implemented years ago when I started networking that has served me very well and continues to as I go out there to meet, greet and network.

Side note: this question came up for a viewer, Laura, after watching last week's episode of The Magic of Marketing. You can click here to check it out! :)

Happy networking,

Jennifer

P.S. After watching this episode, will you now go out there and actually enjoy networking? Do you still not like the idea? Make sure you leave your comments below on your experiences and what you will do differently (or keep doing).

P.P.S. I know you love to share, so thanks for sharing this with your peeps! :)

Thanks Lisa! It's so true isn't it?

You are a fantastic networker, I've seen your connecting in action!

Great segment, Jen!! Like you, I love networking and I've been amazed at how many successful entrepreneurs don't feel comfortable with the notion because they feel it is too sales-y. In the meantime, we are in business to attract customers, right, so why do we feel bad about doing it? I think your tip about redefining networking is great. It takes the pressure off! Go there with the intention to make meaningful connections, get to know people as people first, and then do what you can to help solve their problems. "Purify!" (Love that!) You helped me with this concept last year when I started your program. "Go to give, not to get" has served me well. Thanks xo
